Aizu clan
The Aizu clan was a prominent samurai family in Japan during the late feudal period. Based in the Aizu domain, located in present-day Fukushima Prefecture, the clan played a significant role in the political and military affairs of the region. They were known for their loyalty to the Tokugawa shogunate and their involvement in various conflicts, including the Boshin War.
The clan's most notable figure was Tadakuni Matsudaira, who served as the lord of Aizu during the turbulent times of the Meiji Restoration. The Aizu clan's legacy is remembered for its strong adherence to bushido, the samurai code of honor, and its resistance against the imperial forces during the fall of the shogunate.
