Air Launch
Air launch is a method of launching rockets or spacecraft from an aircraft instead of a ground-based platform. This technique allows for greater flexibility in launch locations and can reduce the amount of fuel needed to reach orbit. By taking off at high altitude, the aircraft can release the rocket, which then ignites its engines to ascend into space.
One notable example of air launch is the Virgin Orbit system, which uses a modified Boeing 747 called "Cosmic Girl" to carry its LauncherOne rocket. This approach can help lower costs and improve access to space for small satellites and other payloads.
