Air America
Air America was a private airline that operated from 1950 to 1976, primarily in Southeast Asia. It was established by the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) to support covert operations during the Vietnam War and other conflicts in the region. The airline provided transportation for military personnel, supplies, and humanitarian aid.
The airline's operations included flying missions in Laos, Vietnam, and Cambodia, often under challenging conditions. While it was officially a commercial airline, its close ties to the CIA meant that many of its flights were secretive and involved intelligence activities. Air America played a significant role in the logistics of U.S. operations during the Cold War.
