Ahalya
Ahalya is a character from Hindu mythology, primarily known from the ancient Indian epic, the Ramayana. She is often depicted as a beautiful and virtuous woman, created by the sage Gautama. Ahalya's story revolves around themes of love, betrayal, and redemption.
In the Ramayana, Ahalya is cursed by her husband, Gautama, after being deceived by the god Indra. As a result, she is turned into stone and remains in this form until she is liberated by Lord Rama, who touches her with his foot. This act restores her to her original form, symbolizing forgiveness and the power of divine grace.
