Agustín Barrios
Agustín Barrios was a renowned Paraguayan composer and classical guitarist, born on May 5, 1885. He is celebrated for his contributions to guitar music, blending traditional Latin American styles with classical techniques. Barrios composed numerous pieces, many of which are still performed today, showcasing his unique musical voice.
Barrios was also known by the nickname "Mangoré," inspired by a local indigenous chief.
