Afrikaner National Party
The Afrikaner National Party, founded in 1914, was a political party in South Africa that represented the interests of the Afrikaner population. It aimed to promote Afrikaner culture and identity, advocating for policies that favored the Afrikaner community, particularly in the context of the country's colonial history.
The party gained significant power after the 1948 elections, implementing the system of apartheid, which enforced racial segregation and discrimination against non-white South Africans. The Afrikaner National Party remained in power until the early 1990s, when the apartheid system was dismantled, leading to the establishment of a democratic government in South Africa.
