Aegon the Conqueror, also known as Aegon I Targaryen, was the first king of the Seven Kingdoms of Westeros. Aegon is famous for riding the dragon Balerion the Black Dread, which helped him defeat his enemies. His reign marked the beginning of the Targaryen rule, which lasted nearly 300 years.
