Aegithalos caudatus
The Aegithalos caudatus, commonly known as the long-tailed tit, is a small passerine bird found across Europe and parts of Asia. It is easily recognizable by its distinctive long tail, round body, and soft, fluffy plumage, which is primarily pink, white, and black. These birds are social and often seen in small flocks, foraging for insects and seeds in trees and shrubs.
Long-tailed tits build intricate nests, usually in dense vegetation, where they lay 5 to 12 eggs. The nests are often camouflaged to protect them from predators. These birds are known for their acrobatic movements and cheerful calls, making them a delightful sight in gardens and woodlands.
