Advanced placement (AP)
Advanced Placement (AP) is a program created by the College Board that offers high school students the opportunity to take college-level courses and exams. These courses cover a variety of subjects, including Mathematics, Science, History, and Languages. Students who perform well on the AP exams may earn college credit or advanced placement in college courses.
The AP program aims to enhance students' academic skills and prepare them for the rigors of higher education. Schools that offer AP courses provide a challenging curriculum, allowing students to explore subjects in greater depth and potentially save on college tuition costs by earning credits before they even enroll.
