Adelina Sotnikova is a Russian figure skater born on July 1, 1996, in Moscow. She gained international recognition for her performances in singles skating, particularly during the 2014 Winter Olympics held in Sochi, where she won the gold medal in the women's individual event. This victory made her the first Russian woman to win Olympic gold in figure skating.
