Acrisius
Acrisius was a character from Greek mythology, known as the king of Argos. He was the son of Abas and the grandson of Lynceus. Acrisius is most famous for his role in the myth of Perseus, as he received a prophecy that he would be killed by his grandson. To prevent this fate, he locked his daughter, Danaë, in a tower.
Despite his efforts, Danaë was visited by Zeus in the form of golden rain and became pregnant with Perseus. Acrisius eventually cast them out to sea in a wooden chest. Ultimately, the prophecy came true when Perseus accidentally killed Acrisius during a sporting event.
