Acoustic Feedback
Acoustic feedback occurs when a sound loop is created between a microphone and a speaker. This happens when the microphone picks up sound from the speaker, amplifying it and sending it back to the speaker again. The result is a loud, often high-pitched screeching noise that can be disruptive in live performances or public speaking events.
To prevent acoustic feedback, sound engineers often use techniques such as adjusting microphone placement, lowering speaker volume, or using equalizers to reduce certain frequencies. Understanding and managing acoustic feedback is essential for achieving clear sound in settings like concerts, conferences, and recording studios.
