Acorn Electron
The Acorn Electron is an 8-bit home computer released in 1983 by Acorn Computers. It was designed as a more affordable alternative to the BBC Micro, targeting the educational market and home users. The Electron featured a 32 KB RAM and used a custom 6502 processor, allowing it to run various software and games.
The computer had a distinctive compact design and offered a range of peripherals, including a cassette tape interface for data storage. Although it was less powerful than its predecessor, the Acorn Electron gained a loyal following and contributed to the growth of home computing in the UK during the 1980s.
