Acheron
Acheron is a river in Greek mythology, often associated with the underworld. It is one of the five rivers of the Underworld, which is the realm of the dead. The name "Acheron" translates to "river of sorrow" or "river of woe," reflecting its connection to the afterlife and the journey of souls.
In ancient texts, the ferryman Charon is said to transport souls across the Acheron to the Underworld. Those who could not pay Charon's fee were believed to wander the shores of the river for eternity. Acheron symbolizes the transition from life to death in Greek lore.
