Achernar
Achernar is a bright star located in the constellation of Eridanus. It is the ninth-brightest star in the night sky and is classified as a B-type main-sequence star. Achernar is approximately 139 light-years away from Earth and is known for its distinctive blue color.
The name "Achernar" comes from the Arabic phrase meaning "the end of the river," reflecting its position at the southern end of the Eridanus constellation. This star is notable for its rapid rotation, which causes it to have an oblate shape, making it wider at the equator than at the poles.
