Abram (Abraham)
Abram, later known as Abraham, is a significant figure in the religious texts of Judaism, Christianity, and Islam. He is often regarded as the founding patriarch of the Israelites, and his story is primarily found in the Book of Genesis. Abram is known for his covenant with God, which promised him numerous descendants and the land of Canaan.
Abram's journey began in Ur of the Chaldeans, where he was called by God to leave his homeland. He traveled to Canaan, where he built altars and established his faith. His life is marked by key events, including the birth of his son Isaac and the test of his faith when asked to sacrifice him, which ultimately demonstrated his devotion to God.
