Abkhaz People
The Abkhaz people are an ethnic group primarily residing in Abkhazia, a region on the Black Sea coast that is internationally recognized as part of Georgia. They speak the Abkhaz language, which belongs to the Northwest Caucasian language family. The Abkhaz have a rich cultural heritage, including traditional music, dance, and crafts.
Historically, the Abkhaz people have faced various challenges, including conflicts and political struggles. Following the Abkhaz War in the early 1990s, the region declared independence, but this status is not widely recognized. Today, the Abkhaz continue to maintain their cultural identity amidst ongoing geopolitical tensions.
