Abijah
Abijah was a king of Judah, known for his reign during the early 10th century BCE. He was the son of Rehoboam and the grandson of Solomon. Abijah is often remembered for his conflict with the northern kingdom of Israel, particularly against King Jeroboam. His reign lasted for about three years, and he is noted for his efforts to restore worship in the Temple of Jerusalem.
Despite his short rule, Abijah is mentioned in the biblical books of 1 Kings and 2 Chronicles. He is characterized as a king who followed some of the ways of his father, but he also made attempts to uphold the worship of Yahweh. His legacy is often viewed in the context of the divided monarchy of Israel and Judah.
