Abel Prize
The Abel Prize is an annual award given by the Norwegian Academy of Science and Letters to recognize outstanding contributions in the field of mathematics. Established in 2001, it honors mathematicians for their exceptional work, similar to how the Nobel Prize recognizes achievements in other disciplines.
Named after the Norwegian mathematician Niels Henrik Abel, the prize aims to increase awareness of the importance of mathematics in society. Recipients receive a medal and a cash award, celebrating their significant impact on the mathematical community and inspiring future generations of mathematicians.
