Abdominal Ultrasound
An abdominal ultrasound is a non-invasive imaging test that uses sound waves to create pictures of the organs and structures inside the abdomen. It helps doctors examine the liver, gallbladder, pancreas, kidneys, and other abdominal organs for any abnormalities or conditions. The procedure is safe, painless, and does not involve radiation.
During the test, a technician applies a gel to the skin and uses a device called a transducer to send and receive sound waves. The images produced can help diagnose issues such as gallstones, tumors, or inflammation. Results are typically available shortly after the exam.
