Abbotsford Heat
The Abbotsford Heat was a professional ice hockey team based in Abbotsford, British Columbia. They played in the American Hockey League (AHL) from 2009 to 2014 and were the primary affiliate of the Calgary Flames in the National Hockey League (NHL). The team was known for its competitive spirit and contributed to the development of many players who later advanced to the NHL.
The Heat played their home games at the Abbotsford Centre, which had a seating capacity of approximately 7,000. During their time in the AHL, the team made several playoff appearances, showcasing their talent and dedication to the sport. The franchise relocated to Glendale, Arizona in 2014 and was rebranded as the Arizona Coyotes affiliate.
