ARVN
The Army of the Republic of Vietnam, commonly known as ARVN, was the military ground force of the Republic of Vietnam, which existed from 1955 until the fall of Saigon in 1975. It was established to defend South Vietnam against the communist forces of North Vietnam and the Viet Cong.
ARVN was supported by the United States and other allies during the Vietnam War, receiving training, equipment, and financial aid. Despite these resources, the ARVN faced challenges such as corruption, low morale, and difficulties in leadership, which ultimately affected its effectiveness in combat against the North Vietnamese Army.
