A Humument
"A Humument" is a unique art book created by Tom Phillips, first published in 1970. It is an altered version of a Victorian novel titled "A Human Document" by W.H. Hudson. Phillips transformed the original text by painting over the pages, leaving select words visible to create new narratives and visual art.
The project combines literature and visual art, resulting in a series of colorful, intricate pages that invite readers to explore the interplay between text and imagery. Each page is a standalone piece, showcasing Phillips' creativity and challenging traditional notions of storytelling and bookmaking.
