93rd Highlanders
The 93rd Highlanders, officially known as the 93rd (Sutherland Highlanders) Regiment of Foot, was a British Army infantry regiment formed in 1799. Renowned for their distinctive Highland dress, including kilts and feather bonnets, they played a significant role in various military campaigns, particularly during the Crimean War.
The regiment gained fame for its bravery at the Battle of Balaclava in 1854, where they held their ground against overwhelming odds. The 93rd Highlanders were eventually amalgamated into the Argyll and Sutherland Highlanders in 1881, continuing their legacy within the British Army.
