3rd Infantry Regiment
The 3rd Infantry Regiment, also known as the "Old Guard," is the oldest active-duty infantry unit in the United States Army. Established in 1784, it is primarily responsible for ceremonial duties in Washington, D.C., including state funerals and official ceremonies at the Arlington National Cemetery.
In addition to its ceremonial role, the regiment also serves as a regular infantry unit, providing training and support to other military units. The soldiers of the 3rd Infantry Regiment are known for their discipline, precision, and dedication to honoring the nation's history and its fallen heroes.
