1973 Yom Kippur War
The 1973 Yom Kippur War, also known as the October War, was a conflict between Israel and a coalition of Arab states led by Egypt and Syria. It began on October 6, 1973, during the Jewish holiday of Yom Kippur, when the Arab forces launched a surprise attack to reclaim territories lost in the 1967 Six-Day War.
The war lasted until October 25, 1973, and resulted in significant casualties on both sides. It ended with a ceasefire brokered by the United Nations, leading to subsequent peace negotiations and changes in the geopolitical landscape of the Middle East.
