1794 Flowing Hair Silver Dollar
The 1794 Flowing Hair Silver Dollar is one of the first silver dollars minted by the United States. It features a portrait of Lady Liberty with flowing hair on the obverse and an eagle on the reverse. This coin is significant as it represents the early efforts of the U.S. Mint to create a national currency.
Only about 1,800 of these coins were produced, making them extremely rare and highly sought after by collectors. The Flowing Hair design was used for a short period before being replaced by the Draped Bust design in 1795. Its historical importance and limited mintage contribute to its value in numismatics.
