15 July Martyrs Bridge
The 15 July Martyrs Bridge, formerly known as the Bosporus Bridge, is a suspension bridge in Istanbul, Turkey. Completed in 1973, it connects the European and Asian sides of the city, spanning the Bosporus Strait. The bridge is approximately 1,510 meters long and is an iconic symbol of Istanbul.
Renamed in 2016 to honor the victims of the July 15 coup attempt, the bridge plays a crucial role in the city's transportation network. It accommodates both vehicle and pedestrian traffic, facilitating the movement of millions of people daily across this historic waterway.
