횡행결장
횡행결장, or the transverse colon, is a part of the large intestine that runs horizontally across the abdomen. It connects the ascending colon on the right side to the descending colon on the left side. This section plays a crucial role in the digestive process by absorbing water and electrolytes from the waste material.
The transverse colon is typically about 45 centimeters long and is supported by the mesocolon, a fold of tissue that attaches it to the back wall of the abdomen. It is also involved in the movement of waste through the intestines, helping to form stool before it passes into the descending colon.
