무속신앙
무속신앙, or shamanism, is a traditional belief system in Korea that involves the worship of spirits and ancestors. Practitioners, known as 무당 (mudang), act as intermediaries between the spiritual and physical worlds. They perform rituals to communicate with 신 (gods) and 영혼 (spirits) to seek guidance, healing, and protection for individuals and communities.
The rituals often include music, dance, and offerings, reflecting the deep connection between nature and spirituality in Korean culture. 무속신앙 plays a significant role in various life events, such as births, weddings, and funerals, emphasizing the importance of harmony between the living and the spiritual realm.
