華厳宗
華厳宗 (Kegon-shū) is a school of Japanese Buddhism that originated from the Chinese Huayan school. It emphasizes the interconnectedness of all phenomena and the idea that everything is a reflection of the ultimate reality. The teachings are based on the 華厳経 (Avataṃsaka Sūtra), which presents a vision of the universe as a harmonious whole.
Founded in the late 8th century, Kegon became influential during the 奈良時代 (Nara period) and later in the 平安時代 (Heian period). Its practices include meditation and the study of scriptures, aiming to achieve enlightenment through understanding the nature of reality and the interdependence of all beings.
