精霊
"精霊" (seirei) refers to spirits or supernatural beings in Japanese folklore and Shinto beliefs. These entities are often associated with natural elements, such as trees, rivers, and mountains, and are believed to inhabit these places. They can be benevolent, offering protection and blessings, or malevolent, causing misfortune if disrespected.
In Shinto, rituals and offerings are made to honor these spirits, acknowledging their presence and seeking their favor. The concept of 精霊 is closely related to the idea of 神 (kami), which represents deities or divine spirits in Japanese culture. Both play significant roles in the spiritual landscape of Japan.
