清水寺
清水寺 (Kiyomizu-dera) is a historic temple located in Kyoto, Japan. Founded in 778, it is part of the Historic Monuments of Ancient Kyoto UNESCO World Heritage Site. The temple is famous for its wooden stage that juts out over the hillside, offering stunning views of the cherry and maple trees below, especially during spring and autumn.
The name "Kiyomizu" means "clear water," derived from the Otowa Waterfall that runs beneath the main hall. Visitors can drink from the waterfall's streams, which are believed to bring good fortune. The temple is also known for its beautiful architecture and cultural significance in Japanese history.
