小学
小学 is the Japanese term for elementary school, which typically serves children from ages 6 to 12. It is the first stage of formal education in Japan, where students learn basic subjects such as mathematics, science, Japanese language, and social studies. The curriculum also includes physical education, music, and arts to promote a well-rounded development.
In 小学, students are encouraged to develop social skills and teamwork through group activities and class projects. The school year usually starts in April and consists of six grades. After completing 小学, students advance to 中学校 (junior high school) for further education.
