关帝 (Guandi)
关帝 (Guandi), also known as Guan Yu, is a historical figure from the Three Kingdoms period of China. He is celebrated as a symbol of loyalty and righteousness, often depicted with a long beard and wielding a green dragon crescent blade. Guandi was a general who served under Liu Bei, one of the key leaders during this tumultuous era.
Over time, Guandi became a popular deity in Chinese folk religion, revered as the God of War and protector of the faithful. Temples dedicated to him can be found throughout China and in other East Asian countries. His influence extends into various cultural aspects, including literature, art, and martial arts.
