ねぶた祭り
The ねぶた祭り (Nebuta Matsuri) is a traditional Japanese festival held annually in Aomori during the first week of August. It features large, illuminated floats called nebuta, which are made of painted washi paper and depict historical figures, mythical creatures, and scenes from folklore. The festival attracts thousands of visitors who enjoy the vibrant displays and lively atmosphere.
During the festival, participants known as haneto wear colorful costumes and dance around the floats while chanting and singing. The event culminates in a grand parade, where the nebuta are showcased, and fireworks light up the night sky, creating a spectacular celebration of culture and community.
