لاسکو is a prehistoric cave located in the south of France, famous for its stunning cave paintings. Discovered in 1940, the cave features over 600 paintings, primarily of animals like bison, horses, and deer. These artworks are believed to be around 17,000 years old, showcasing the artistic skills of early humans. The cave is part of the Pyrénées mountain range and is a UNESCO World Heritage site. Due to concerns about preservation, the original cave is closed to the public, but a replica, known as Lascaux II, allows visitors to experience the art without damaging the original site.
