ضلع
"ضلع" (pronounced "zila") is an administrative division in several countries, particularly in South Asia. It serves as a subunit of a larger region, such as a state or province, and is responsible for local governance and administration. Each ضلع typically has its own local government, which oversees various public services and development projects.
In the context of Pakistan, for example, a ضلع can encompass multiple towns and villages, facilitating the management of resources and infrastructure. The head of a ضلع is often referred to as a "Deputy Commissioner," who plays a crucial role in implementing government policies and ensuring law and order within the area.
