Студеница
Студеница is a Serbian Orthodox monastery located in the central part of Serbia. Founded in the 12th century by Stefan Nemanja, it is known for its significant role in the history of the Serbian church and state. The monastery is a UNESCO World Heritage site, recognized for its medieval architecture and beautiful frescoes.
The complex includes several churches, with the most notable being the Church of the Assumption. The frescoes inside are considered masterpieces of Byzantine art, showcasing the rich cultural heritage of the region. St. John the Baptist is the patron saint of the monastery, and it remains an important pilgrimage site for Orthodox Christians.
