Русская правда
"Русская правда" (Russian Truth) is a collection of legal codes from the Kievan Rus' period, dating back to the 11th century. It is one of the earliest examples of written law in Eastern Slavic history and reflects the social and legal norms of that time. The text addresses various aspects of daily life, including property rights, criminal offenses, and family matters.
The code is divided into several sections, with the most notable being the "Short Edition" and the "Long Edition." It served as a foundation for later legal systems in Russia and influenced the development of Slavic law. "Русская правда" is significant for understanding the historical context of governance and justice in early Eastern Europe.
