Восток-1
«Восток-1» was the first spacecraft to carry a human into space, launched by the Soviet Union on April 12, 1961. The mission was piloted by Юрий Гагарин, who completed one orbit around the Earth in approximately 108 minutes. This historic flight marked a significant achievement in the Space Race between the United States and the Soviet Union.
The spacecraft was designed to be simple and reliable, featuring a spherical shape to withstand atmospheric re-entry. «Восток-1» paved the way for future human space exploration and established Gagarin as an international hero and symbol of Soviet space prowess.
