АТФ
АТФ, or аденозинтрифосфат, is a molecule that plays a crucial role in cellular energy transfer. It is often referred to as the "energy currency" of the cell because it stores and provides energy for various biological processes. When cells need energy, they break down АТФ into аденозиндифосфат (АДФ) and inorganic phosphate, releasing energy for activities such as muscle contraction and biochemical reactions.
АТФ is produced primarily in the mitochondria of cells through processes like клеточное дыхание (cellular respiration) and фотосинтез (photosynthesis) in plants. Its structure consists of an adenine base, a ribose sugar, and three phosphate groups. The high-energy bonds between the phosphate groups are what make АТФ an efficient energy source for living organisms.
