Φρυγία
Φρυγία, known as Phrygia in English, was an ancient kingdom located in what is now central Turkey. It flourished from around the 8th to the 6th century BCE and is famous for its rich culture and contributions to art and architecture. The Phrygians spoke an Indo-European language and were known for their unique burial mounds, called tumuli, which often contained elaborate grave goods.
The kingdom is also associated with the legendary figure of King Midas, who was said to have the ability to turn everything he touched into gold. Phrygia played a significant role in the history of the region, influencing neighboring cultures and eventually becoming part of the Roman Empire.
