Λουδοβίκος ΙΔ' (Louis XIV) was the King of France from 1643 until his death in 1715. He is often referred to as the "Sun King" and is known for his long reign, which lasted 72 years, making him one of the longest-reigning monarchs in European history. His rule is characterized by the centralization of power and the establishment of an absolute monarchy, where he famously stated, "L'état, c'est moi" (I am the state).
