Θοδωρής Κολοκοτρώνης was a prominent Greek general and leader during the Greek War of Independence against Ottoman rule in the early 19th century. Born in 1770 in the Peloponnese region, he played a crucial role in organizing and leading Greek forces. His strategic skills and determination earned him the nickname "The Old Man of Morea." Kolo­kotrónis is best known for his leadership in the Battle of Valtetsi in 1821 and the Siege of Tripolitsa. He became a symbol of Greek resistance and is celebrated as a national hero. His contributions significantly influenced the eventual establishment of an independent Greek state.
