Θοδωρής Κολοκοτρώνης
Θοδωρής Κολοκοτρώνης was a prominent Greek general and leader during the Greek War of Independence against Ottoman rule in the early 19th century. Born in 1770 in the Peloponnese region, he played a crucial role in organizing and leading Greek forces. His strategic skills and determination earned him the nickname "The Old Man of Morea."
Kolokotrónis is best known for his leadership in the Battle of Valtetsi in 1821 and the Siege of Tripolitsa. He became a symbol of Greek resistance and is celebrated as a national hero. His contributions significantly influenced the eventual establishment of an independent Greek state.
