Βούδας (Enlightenment)
Βούδας, or Buddhism, refers to the state of enlightenment achieved by Siddhartha Gautama, known as the Buddha. This profound realization involves understanding the true nature of reality, overcoming suffering, and attaining inner peace. Enlightenment is characterized by wisdom, compassion, and the cessation of desires that lead to suffering.
The path to enlightenment is outlined in the Noble Eightfold Path, which includes practices such as right understanding, right intention, and right mindfulness. Achieving enlightenment is considered the ultimate goal in Buddhism, leading to liberation from the cycle of birth, death, and rebirth, known as samsara.
