Željko Ražnatović
Željko Ražnatović, commonly known as Arkan, was a Serbian paramilitary leader and politician born on April 17, 1952. He gained notoriety during the Yugoslav Wars in the 1990s, leading the Serbian Volunteer Corps, a paramilitary group involved in various conflicts. Ražnatović was also known for his connections to organized crime and his controversial role in the political landscape of Serbia.
In addition to his military activities, Ražnatović was a prominent figure in the Serbian nationalist movement. He was involved in various business ventures and had a significant following among certain segments of the population. Ražnatović was assassinated on January 15, 2000, in Belgrade, leaving behind a complex legacy.
