Étalon de Yennenga
The Étalon de Yennenga is a bronze statue located in Ouagadougou, the capital of Burkina Faso. It represents Yennenga, a legendary princess and warrior, who is considered a symbol of strength and courage in Burkinabé culture. The statue was created to honor her legacy and is a popular landmark for both locals and tourists.
Unveiled in 2001, the statue stands at 8 meters tall and depicts Yennenga on horseback, holding a spear. It serves as a reminder of the rich history and traditions of the Mossi people, who regard her as the mother of the Mossi kingdom.
