{Prohibition Bureau
The Prohibition Bureau was a federal agency established in the United States in 1920, following the enactment of the 18th Amendment. Its primary role was to enforce the prohibition of alcohol, which made the production, sale, and transportation of alcoholic beverages illegal.
The Bureau operated under the Department of the Treasury and worked to combat illegal activities related to alcohol, such as bootlegging and speakeasies. However, due to widespread noncompliance and corruption, the Bureau faced significant challenges, leading to the eventual repeal of prohibition with the 21st Amendment in 1933.
